EUREKA, CA June 5, 2021 – 2019 NSMS champion Scott Winters of Tracy narrowly escaped a scary crash that saw current points leader Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah go air-born and slam the wall hard in turn four. Winters then passed eight more cars on his way to win his first season victory in the North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest, at Redwood Acres Raceway Saturday night.

MADERA, CALIF. (May 8, 2021) – 2020 Protect the Harvest North State Modified Series champion Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah charged from 18th starting position to win Saturday’s Mission Modified 60-lap feature at Madera Speedway. The victory paid a total of $2000 including a $1000 bonus from Terry Deal’s Economy Heating and Air after Tellstrom elected to start at the rear of the field.
After setting a new track record on Shasta Speedway’s one-third mile oval, 2020 North State Modified champion Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah took the lead away from Dustin DeRosier of Cloverdale on a lap 31 restart, and led the second half of the 60 lapper to lay claim to the 2021 season opener of the North State Modiied Series, presented by Protect the Harvest.
North State Modified Series (NSMS), presented by Protect the Harvest, concluded its covid-shortened 2020 season with no spectators in the stands, but the participation was as competitive as ever with full fields of cars at each venue. It was a close battle all season long, but at the end it was Kyle Tellstrom of Ukiah who came out on top and will reign as the 2020 North State Modified Series champion.
