September 23, 2023…. Eureka, CA .…. After a late-race crash that took out leaders Scott Winters of Tracy and Eureka’s Brandon White , Ian Elliott of Lakeport inherited the lead and led the final 20 laps in style to win his first ever modified race in the North State Modified Series “Dale Baldwin Challenge” at Redwood Acres Raceway Saturday night over second place finisher Kylei Keown of Redwood Valley. Elliott earned $2000 for his efforts plus a $200 bonus from Baldwin’s son Mark Baldwin and long-time friend Doyce Eaton.

August 19 2023…. Stockton , CA.…. With only 20 laps to go in the fourth running of the “Bob Lehman Classic,” Brandon White of Eureka stole the lead away from NSMS points leader Scott Winters on a late-race restart, and drove to his first North State Modified Series victory Saturday night at Stockton 99 Speedway. White’s win broke Winters’ four-race winning streak and moved him up to third in NSMS points behind Winters and Lakeport’s Ian Elliott.

June 24, 2023…. Anderson, CA…. After an early race accident that eliminated Kelseyville’s Sal Martinez and Oregon driver Rich Cobb, Brandon White of Eureka took off like a bullet to lead the first half of the 60 lap Twyman Plumbing sponsored North State Modified Series main event. But when White’s car began to push up the track it was NSMS points leader Scott Winters who made the winning pass to capture his second consecutive NSMS win at Shasta Speedway Saturday night.

June 3, 2023…. Eureka, CA…. After a 10 lap side by battle for the lead with Eric Price of Meridian, 2022 North State Modified Series champion Scott Winters of Tracy pulled ahead on lap 50 of the 60 lap feature, and drove to a $2000 victory in the NSMS “Dave McMurry Sr. Memorial” race at Redwood Acres Raceway Saturday night. Presenting the memorial trophy and congratulations to Winters was McMurray’s widow, Kate McMurray.

October 8, 2022, Anderson CADefending North State Modified Series champion Scott Winters of Tracy dominated the action at Shasta Speedway Saturday night by first turning the quickest lap at 16.342 seconds, earning the O’Reillys Auto Parts Fastest Qualifying Award, and then leading all but nine laps to win the ninth annual “Lloyd Burton Against the Wind Modified Challenge.”

The North State Modified Series celebrated the richest event in its nine year history at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka Saturday night. The “Dale Baldwin Challenge”, presented by McMurray and Sons Roofing, Mark & Sharon Baldwin, Doyce Eaton and Ray Elliott saw some of the heaviest hitters in the modified ranks travel to this prestigious event in hopes of taking home a part of the $20,500 purse payout.
